What To Expect At Your First Visit

We understand that your first visit might bring up some questions and uncertainty, so we’d like to give you an idea of what your hearing evaluation might look like. Through a combination of state-of-the-art hearing tests and a thorough interview, we aim to identify the best solutions for your unique needs. We take a patient-centered approach and always put your needs and preferences at the top of our priority list.

Our doctors will begin with a complete review of any symptoms of hearing loss you might have and how you’re experiencing your hearing ability in daily life. We will also review your lifestyle and specific hearing needs, such as if you travel often or are frequently in noisy environments.

Hearing Associates of Northern Virginia takes pride in utilizing the latest tools to complete your evaluation, and we use a variety of methods to visually inspect your ears. We also perform a complete battery of audiometric tests to identify the thresholds of sound you are comfortably able to hear. These tests will also involve simulating real-life environments to test your hearing ability amidst varying levels of background noise.

If our tests conclude that you do have hearing loss, we will explain your options and take the time to educate you on how different solutions might meet your needs. We want to equip you with the necessary information so that you can make the best choice for your budget, lifestyle, and audiological needs.
